When you hear your alarm at 5:00 a.m. and realize you can’t hit snooze.
So you get yourself out of bed and mentally prepare for the day.
That feeling changes and you’re full of energy as soon as you hear the music blaring in the weight room at 6:00 a.m.
Feeling a pure adrenaline rush when you finally hit a squat max. Before Bambi legs set in.
Brushing off the judgmental looks you receive for taking the elevator to the third floor after a lower body workout.
(Not so) discreetly eating your breakfast during class.
Spotting your teammates from across campus because you’ve all got the same gear.
Trying to eat healthy after meeting with the nutritionist.
Then imagining life without a diet.
When you’ve gotten used to the random drug test routine.
Trying to stay awake to finish a paper due the next morning.
Skipping the weekend plans after traveling to catch up on work.
But at the end of the day its all so worth it because you get to compete in the sport that you love.
On a serious note, I’m so thankful for the opportunity I have to compete at the collegiate level. I absolutely love my team, my sport, and the opportunities I am given solely from being a student athlete. Go Cards!
Giphy was a great resource.
